A webinar on ‘Inspired Living’ was organised by the office of the Dean, Students’ Welfare of D.A.V Centenary College, Faridabad, today under the able and enlightened guidance of the Officiating Principal , Dr. Savita Bhagat, who has been constantly contributing to the growth of the faculty and the students by inviting esteemed resource persons with expertise in different areas- something which has been boosting the confidence of the faculty and students and also helping them to widen their horizons and enrich their lives.
The day turned auspicious when the college got the opportunity to listen to the keynote speaker, Smt. Jaya Row, the founder of ‘Vedanta Vision’ and the Internationally renowned Exponent of the GITA’. Smt. Jaya Row has been invited by the top corporates in California and New York like Apple, Coca -Cola, Google, etc. and by all the big names in the Indian corporate world for her wonderful sessions that help people in shifting from a stressful to a calm and happy life. She has also been invited to very important international platforms like the WHO and the World Economic Forum.
Focusing on personal growth, Smt. Jaya Row shared the mantras of living a happy and dedicated life. Quoting numerous examples from Vedanta and the highly successful lives of eminent people in different parts for the world, the distinguished speaker advised the audience to live life not for money but for happiness and inner fulfilment . She also said, “The most important thing is that one should think beyond self and every great master has exhorted us to be unselfish. One cannot achieve greatness with a small mind and we must expand our minds to attain ever new heights in life.She also mentioned, “Today, the world is suffering from two diseases, i.e, Toxaemia and Deficiency”. Quoting examples from a couple of good Hollywood movies, she said, “We must be alert not be egotistic and realise that to achieve greatness we have to be selfless”.
Going beyond the petty self and expanding our consciousness is the panacea for all the ills afflicting the world today. Dr. Savita Bhagat expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Smt. Jaya Row for sparing time from her busy schedule, sharing her deep spiritual knowledge with the audience and inspiring them to realise their potential and lead better lives with a higher sense of purpose .
Besides, she also thanked Prof. B.K Kuthiala ji, Chairman, Haryana Higher Education Council, who not only joined the webinar from the US but also shared his nuggets of wisdom with the participants. He told the African concept of ‘ Ubantu’ which means I am because you are Or I am because we are, meaning thereby that collectively we can grow and prosper and we are all inextricably linked to each other.
Dr. D.V Sethi, Honorary Treasurer, DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi, for enriching the session with their wise presence. Ms. Ankita Mohindra not only set the ball rolling in a very efficient manner but also proposed a vote of thanks to all the distinguished guests, the eminent speakers and the large and wonderful audience that enriched and enlivened the session.
